Bowling Again - Week 4
Well, my average continues to drop. My plan this week going in was to move my 1st ball target to the 2nd arrow. I was having an issue last week of holding onto my ball too long, and I attributed part of it to playing the outside line over the 1st arrow. Well, there was a lot of oil inside the 10 board, and I couldn't get my ball up to the head pin on the right lane during the 1st game. As it turns out, I only marked once on the right lane and rolled a 146 game. For the 2nd game, I moved back out to the 1st arrow and was able to find the pocket. I rolled a clean game and shot a 203 with one double. On the last game, I started going through the nose and didn't make the right adjustments. I ended up rolling a 125 the last game for a 474 series.
On the last game, when my ball started going through the nose, I moved my feet a couple of boards to the left and kept the same target. When I did that, my ball came in too light. I probably should have made a parallel move or a 2:1 move, but I am not sure which.
Even with me bowling poorly, we have continued to win. Will have to wait and see what happens this week.

Oh cmon, you are not that bad at bowling! 203 points is pretty good :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. I was very happy with my second game. Not so much for the game being over 200, but for the fact that I was able to cover all of my spares. I don't have the power game that I used to, and I don't expect to carry as high of an average. But I do believe I should be able to carry at least a 180+ average with good spare shooting. With all that said, I enjoy both the physical and social aspects of bowling (even when I don't do as well as I think I should).
